1983 Peirce Tellesquirt Ladder 1
The Photo above is our newest acquisition. It was purchased by the department in September 2012. It is a 1983 Peirce 75 foot Telesquirt. It has less than 13,000 miles on the engine and frame. The pump has about 250 hours. It came with a full compliment of ground ladders including a 40 foot stanchion ladder. The color on delivery was a rescue green and we decided to paint it white to match our newest rescue. With the help of Tucker Auto Painting and many long volunteer hours of our firefighters we finished up the paint and striping just in time to show it off on Christmas Eve.
We sought and talked about an aerial for years. With the main street fire of April 2011, it was pushed to the top of our priority list. The cost of a new aerial starts at around a million dollars and for our small department that's too much to hope for. A firefighter and friend of the department from Carbondale, Colorado called us and asked if we were interested in this truck. It belonged to the Aspen fire district. We were more than interested and took a trip to Carbondale. On inspection we were very excited and it was delivered four weeks later and certified two weeks after that. It was put into service January 8th, 2013.
